Overview

Blackburn United was his club before his move to Accies in 1984. He was tried in the first eleven without making a name for himself, although he was chosen to participate in the Youth team trials for the Scotland squad in 1984. Later that same year he was granted a free transfer and he decided to return to his previous grade of football with Broxburn Athletic, then to Whitburn Juniors, and while there he was enticed back "upstairs" by Stenhousemuir.

He also spent some time with East Stirling and Arbroath before returning once more to the lower regions, where he has found greater recognition, as he was in the Scottish Junior pool in Dublin in 1987 and in 1995 he accepted a Scottish Cup runners up medal as a Whitburn player at Fir Park against Camelon Juniors. He went one better in 2000 again with Whitburn when they won the Cup on this occasion, beating Johnstone Burgh on penalties.

Debut on 18th August 1984 in a Scottish League match at home to Motherwell which Accies won 2-0.
