McLaughlin, John (1910)
Overview
An amateur who had played for Blantyre Victoria. He came to Accies from Strathclyde. Played in the 1911 Cup Final.
Transferred to Morton in July 1913. Qualified as a dentist in October 1915. He was resigned by Hamilton for the commencement of the 1919-20 League campaign, an outside right with a fair turn of speed. During season 1919-20, three players appeared in the number 7 jersey in the League, all of them, McLaughlin, John Hanlon and Paddy Corcoran had previously been with the club.
John was the son of John H. McLaughlin the Celtic administrator. On his retirement from the game, John junior, carried out his dentist’s practice in Hamilton.
Debut on 17th September 1910 in a Scottish League match away to Motherwell in which he scored.
