McINTYRE, Tommy (1939)

Overview

Tommy was an outside right who was born in Livingston in 1919. He was with Portobello Renton in May 1937 when Hibernian signed him. Such was his form in his first year at Easter Road that in December 1938 Manchester United offered £10,000 for him and his Hibernian club mate, Sammy Kean. It was turned down.

In 1939 he was chosen to go to the USA and Canada in a close season tour. He played in seven games, scoring five times. A month after the outbreak of war in 1939 he came to Douglas Park on loan. In November 1945 he was signed by Kilmarnock. A good crosser of the ball and had a good turn of speed.
