GREEN, Thomas (1925)

Overview

A Heart of Midlothian player whose single outing for Accies was at Easter Road on 23rd March 1925 in the replay of the Scottish Cup Semi Final game against Dundee which was lost 2-0. He played on loan along with another Tynecastle man, John Murphy who had played in three earlier Scottish Cup ties. A local reporter felt that he was not played to in the match by his colleagues in red and white.

When he was released by the Edinburgh club at the close of the season he moved to Third Lanark and scored four goals in their pre season trial match. Originally from Liverpool where he was born on 25th November 1893. His senior career commenced in 1919 with West Ham United before a move took him to Southport, followed by South Liverpool. 1921 saw him at Accrington Stanley with 23 goals in 30 matches. Stockport County next used him, then Clapton Orient. He then moved north of the border to join Heart of Midlothian. He died in 1975.
