BASHFORD, Edward (1971)

Overview

A player who shone as a junior while with Benburb. He came into the Hamilton side towards the end of the 1970-71 season and played in the early matches of the following term.

He was freed in 1972 and was reinstated to the crack junior side, Irvine Meadow, with whom he won a Junior Cup medal in 1973. He also gained 4 caps at that level, as a cultured defender.

In September 1975 a tour of West Germany was undertaken by a Scottish Junior Select and Eddie played in two of the three games which were won 7-0 and 5-1.

Debut on 20th March 1971 at home to Stirling Albion in a Scottish League match which was lost 2-0.
