Overview

A Schoolboy Internationalist in 1933 and 1934 he was chosen to play as an Under 14 year old on six occasions while representing Ayrshire Schools. He made his Ayr United debut in 1938 against Accies at Douglas Park when he scored twice in a 3-0 victory for The Honest Men. He was employed in the glass trade during the war.

In December 1940 he was recruited by Morton. He also appeared for Chester and Millwall during the war. A left winger. He became club chairman at Ayr in later years.

Debut on 25th October 1941 in a Southern League match at home to Albion Rovers.
