GILMOUR, George (1927)

Overview

A young goalkeeper who was signed from Coalburn Juniors in 1927. Brought off many fine saves in his first outing. Kept his place for a few games before he was dropped, by the close of the season he was back in favour and continued to serve the club for a few years. He was freed in 1932 and joined English non-League side, Tunbridge Wells.

Born in Hurlford, George was 5’8” and weighed 11sts 6lbs.

Debut on 27th October 1927 in a Scottish League match at home to Airdrieonians.
