Overview

Eddie was playing at inside left for Coltness United when he was given a trial on Christmas Eve, 1955 in a match against Brechin City. One of forty players who turned out that season in the first eleven for the club. He had played for Bothwellhaugh Athletic at Juvenile level prior to signing for Renfrew Juniors. In 1954, he was provisionally signed by Aberdeen.

Debut on 24th December 1955 in a Scottish League match against Brechin City which was lost 3-1.
