HAFECOST, Harry (1919)
Overview
An Englishman, born in Sunderland on March 22nd 1890, who joined the club in 1919. An inside forward who had been at one time with Sunderland Royal Rovers before joining, in 1912, Southern League Gillingham from whom he joined Liverpool, in May 1914, for a substantial fee. His stay on Merseyside lasted a year. He had also been with Belfast Celtic.
After only three League outings with Accies he returned south due to health difficulties. His play had been a disappointment to the fans as he had come north with quite a reputation. He had also been on the books of Darlington and Hartlepools United. His death took place in 1967.
Well built at 5’11” and 11sts 10lbs.
Debut on 16th August 1919 in a Scottish League game at Love Street.
