HASTIE, Tom (1897)

Overview

Tom was an ever present in the clubs first season in the Second Division in 1897, turning out on the extreme left wing in all but two occasions. Of the known League goalscorers that term, he was the top marksman with 5. Indeed he played in every match in which the club participated as far as can be ascertained that season.

The following year he was not as prominent on the goal front and he joined East Stirlingshire in 1899. As a junior he was with Cadzow Oak in 1894 before joining Dalziel Rovers in the close season.

Debut against Motherwell at home in Qualifying Cup on 11th September 1897. Lost 4-3.
