BURNS, John (1919)

Overview

An outside right who came to Accies on loan from Celtic near the completion of the 1918-19 season. He had had a good match against Accies the previous December in the League.

Signed from junior St Anthony’s on a provisional basis in April 1918, he put his name to a full contract before going to Dumbarton also on loan, then he was with Dumbarton Harp, all of this in 1918. After Accies he was also with Vale of Leven and again with the Harp. When he was freed he went to Queen of the South in 1920. From there he was reinstated as an amateur and later turned out for East Stirling prior to emigrating in 1922 to Canada.

Debut on 5th April 1919 in a Scottish League match at home to Kilmarnock.
