PARK, James (1937)

Overview

In 1932 he played for Scotland’s Schoolboys at Under 14 level when the opposition were England, Wales and Ireland, having earlier represented both Hamilton District and Lanarkshire. He was at Strathaven Academy at the time.

A native of Strathaven, he was signed in August 1937 while a wing half with Stonehouse Violet to whom he had been farmed out to gain experience. While with Accies he was studying agriculture at a Glasgow college. Served with the Army during World War Two.

Debut on 24th August 1937 in a Scottish League match away to Partick Thistle.
