HART, Johnny (1918)

Overview

A young player who was a reserve with Rangers, he came on loan during the latter stages of the First Word War in 1918. While at Ibrox he scored 5 goals in 6 League outings.

He also assisted Motherwell and Renton. He made one appearance for Kilmarnock on 23rd November 1918. Albion Rovers signed him in 1919 and he made a number of appearances for them that term and was a regular scorer. In one of which, a Scottish Cup replay against St Bernard’s at Cliftonhill, he scored a hat trick but was not picked for the next round match at home to Aberdeen. He was in the Rovers side which played at Cliftonhill for the first time on Christmas Day 1919.

Though Glasgow born, he was said to have connections with Larkhall. A centre forward.

Debut on 24th August 1918 in a First Division League game at Douglas Park against Hibernian.

Scottish League 4 Appearances 1 Goal.
