JACKSON, James (1910)
Overview
A signing from Port Glasgow Athletic. One of three signings from the Renfrewshire club who made their Accies debut in the same match. He was a right back coming in due to a bad injury to Willie Brownlie.
He returned to his locality when Morton used him in the 1910-11 season. Four seasons earlier, St Mirren had a Jackson at right back, in view of the fact that he was with another Renfrewshire club it is likely that it was the same player. Also, in 1913 Abercorn won the Scottish Qualifying Cup at Cathkin Park after a second replay against Arbroath with a Jackson at right back. During the war he was employed in a torpedo factory.
Debut on 26th February 1910 in a Scottish League match at home to Airdrieonians.
