A left half who was with Brentford. Assisted Accies during the unofficial war matches in seasons 1943-44 and 1944-45. The vast majority of the matches he played while at Douglas Park were at left back.

Prior to Brentford he had been a Queen of the South player. When the war was over he was signed by Carlisle United in September 1946 but appeared for them only 10 times.

Born at Felling on 26th July 1913, Jimmy had started his career with Blyth Spartans.
