YOUNG, Alexander (1932)

Overview

Alex was brought from Clydebank Juniors to provide cover at centre half for Davie Hill in November 1932. His early games were mostly at wing half before he was given the chance of staking a claim for the number 5 position.

When Hill left the club, Jimmy McStay was brought in and Alex again took a back seat. He was freed in 1936. Despite that he did not leave Douglas Park empty handed as he won a medal as a member of the Accies team which won the Second Eleven Cup in April 1934 against Motherwell in a Final over two legs.
