ARCHER, Scott (1989)

Overview

Had been on the rounds with various under age sides, Hamilton Colts, Mill United, Burnbank Thistle, Fairholm and finally with Leicester City Boys Club as a youngster and it was from the latter that he came to Accies in 1988. Standing 5' 10", he seemed a natural successor to John McNaught, in the middle of the park.

He showed promise, however injury took its toll and he eventually left Accies for Albion Rovers in 1991 after a spell on loan to the Cliftonhill men. Queen of the South also had him on loan for a spell a short time earlier.

He later played for Glenafton Athletic and while with the New Cumnock side he played in the 1994 Junior Cup Final at Ibrox. In 1997 he was with Arthurlie Juniors. He returned to Glenafton Athletic in 2000. Four years later he was the Assistant Manager with Cambuslang Rangers. In 2008 he was back at Hamilton Coaching the Under 10’s.

Born in Bellshill on 2nd April 1970.

Debut on 14th February 1989 in a Premier League fixture at home to Aberdeen which Accies lost 2-0.
