Overview

His displays at outside right while playing with Burnbank Swifts meant him being offered a place at Douglas Park. This he accepted and made his debut in 1969. He spent another season with Accies before being released in a difficult period for all concerned at Hamilton. Possibly made the move to the senior grade too quickly.

He then went to Kello Rovers, while there he was capped 4 times with the Scottish Juniors and went on to make over 400 appearances for the Kirkconnell side. He was a keen cricketer, and played with the Woodhall club, from Airdrie.

Debut on 9th April 1969 at home to Berwick Rangers in a Scottish League match which was won 2-0.
