BARRAU, Xavier (2008)

Overview

A 25 year old Frenchman who played in midfield or as a winger. He had commenced his career with his home town club, Lyon and then turned out for several lower league French clubs. He came to Scotland where he played trials for Dundee United, Livingston and Gretna prior to Airdrie United offering him a contact.

In 2006 he then moved to England and joined Bradford City, Walsall and then Darlington and it was from there that he came to Accies in 2008. On his debut he played well and looked as if he would be a good addition to the squad, however in subsequent outings he failed to show the same enthusiasm and he was released in April 2008 whereupon he returned to France where his wife had just given birth.

At the start of the next season he was signed by French club, ES Frejus. He was reported to have played in Switzerland as well with FC Meyrin before coming to Scotland initially.

He was born in Lyon on 26th September 1982.

Debut on 2nd January 2008 in a Scottish League match at home to Queen of the South which was won 1-0.
