PRINGLE, Dave (1930)

Overview

An excellent junior player while with Tranent Juniors from where he was signed by Stoke City, and it was from there that he came to Accies in 1929. Signed as back up to centre forward Davie Wilson, it was almost a hopeless situation for any centre forward coming to Douglas Park and he found it no different than the rest.

One asset was his great speed. Most of his scoring was done with the reserves in the Scottish Alliance League, he was a big disappointment and his free transfer in April 1931, came as no great surprise to the Hamilton fans. Irish club, Coleraine then took him on in August of that year.

Dave was born in Wallsend-on-Tyne. In height he was 5’8” and tipped the scales at 10sts 12lbs.

Debut on 16th August 1930 in a Scottish League match at home to St Mirren.
