WATSON, Philip (1936)

Overview

First came into the side in 1936 and in his few outings he managed to find the net playing in the inside right role. He later appeared at inside left twice in 1942.

He had been a junior with Bellshill Athletic before being signed by Airdrieonians and it was when he was freed by the Broomfield side that manager Willie McAndrew added him to the Douglas Park playing staff. Said to be a relation of the other two Accies players of the same name.

Debut on 24th August 1936 in a Lanarkshire Cup tie versus Airdrieonians.
