HOOD, Ron (1941)
Overview
Ron was born in Cowdenbeath on 18th November 1922 and played in most of the front positions for Accies when he came into the side during the war a month after his 18th birthday. He joined up at Douglas Park from a Fife juvenile club.
He was loaned to Dunfermline Athletic in 1944, by December he was recalled by Accies much against the wishes of the East End club. When he moved from Hamilton in August 1947 it was to Aldershot, where he appeared in 14 games with 6 goals in his fifteen month stay before he signed for Rochdale. He left them after two seasons with 51 matches and 1 goal behind him.
Debut on 20th December 1941 in a Southern League match away to Celtic.
