McCRORIE, Tom (1924)

Overview

A junior with Rob Roy, he went to Dundee in 1923, before being signed by Hamilton in 1924. He played a major role in Accies early games in the Scottish Cup but was badly injured in a Scottish League match at Perth on 11th February 1925 and did not play for the club again.

He was transferred to Aberdeen in August 1926. He also played for Charlton Athletic, Aberdare Athletic, Dunfermline Athletic, Birmingham City as a trialist, Merthyr Town, Barrow, New Bedford Whalers, Pawtucket Rangers, Shelbourne and with Linfield where he finished up playing in Ireland in 1932. In September 1933 he was back playing at Douglas Park in the Scottish Alliance League with Beith. He later acted as Secretary to Benburb Juniors.

An inside forward. He was an accurate passer of the ball, with good close control and skills. He hailed from Govan.

Debut at home to Cowdenbeath in a 5-2 win on 4th October 1924 in a Scottish League game. He scored twice.
