ARNOTT, Johnny (1907)

Overview

A Wigtownshire man who had played for Stranraer, where he was captain, and Newcastle United, whom he joined on 18th November 1904, and scored twice on his debut for the Magpies Alliance side, before arriving at Douglas Park in 1907.

He spent a productive time at Hamilton before once again donning the colours of Stranraer. When he was given a benefit by his home town team, on 20th April 1911, Accies supplied the opposition five days after their appearance in the Scottish Cup Final. 1,500 witnessed an Accies 1-0 win, at Stranraer, not in the Cup Final sadly.

Debut 17th August 1907 at home to Hibernian in a Scottish League match in which he scored.
