Accies Career

Overview

A bit of a buzz bomb was Raymond. Glasgow born, he made the grade from Bishopbriggs Boys Club to St Johnstone in 1981 as a left sided player. His temper was a bit of a problem to him on more than one occasion and he fell foul of authority. John Lambie was in charge when he came to Douglas Park in 1984.

He was released after a season with Accies and he then pulled on the blue of Stranraer. The juniors next took up his attention and he was a member of Cumnock's clever side alongside another former Accie, Gerry Phillips. Raymond captained the Scottish Junior side in 1994. In 1998 he was second in charge with Maryhill Juniors.

Born in Glasgow on 29th October 1963.

Debut on 11th August 1984 in a Scottish League fixture away to Ayr United which was drawn 1-1. He was a substitute.
