HARRIS, James (1926)

Overview

When George Somerville left Accies in July 1926 there was no reserve goalkeeper on the books therefore a new face had to brought in and manager McAndrew went to Shawfield Juniors to sign James Harris. He played in a number of matches on a trot but he never really was the answer. Blew hot and cold in his work. Nervous on his debut but had a very good match away to Dunfermline Athletic the following week. A lanky fellow.

When he left Douglas Park he was signed by the Fife club. A move came for him in the shape of Manchester City and from there he went to Rotherham before crossing the Irish Sea to team up with Waterford. In 1931 he was transfer listed by the Maine Road club as he was still registered by them. His next club was Bohemians. Three years later he was released by Glentoran. Born in Glasgow.

Debut on 14th August 1926 in a Scottish League match at home to St Mirren.
