Accies Career

Overview

A player John Lambie tried to sign at various times. He was eventually successful when he moved to Hamilton from Ayr United in 1985. He had been at Bolton Wanderers as a youngster and returned to Scotland to sign for Clyde in 1979. He then moved in two year cycles, to Albion Rovers in 1981, Ayr in 1983 and then Accies.

His stay at Hamilton was much shorter and within months of coming to Douglas Park he was off to St Johnstone. He left Perth a year later due to work commitments. He played in the midfield although he was originally seen as a striker.

He was Manager with Boston United and then took on a similar position with Crawley Town in 2007. A controversial figure, whilst manager of Boston United he was successfully prosecuted for tax evasion.
