Accies Career

Overview

When he came to Accies from Vale of Clyde in November of 1993, it was his second spell as a senior player, having previously seen service with Albion Rovers, whom he had joined in 1988 from Leicester City Boys Club.

A 6' 2" goalkeeper, he stood in for Allan Ferguson on several occasions. Despite his height advantage, he sometimes seemed loathe to come off his line for cross balls. In training it is said that he displayed skills quite in keeping with an outfield player although this was never put to the test.

He became the first to appear as a substitute goalkeeper for the club when he took over at Tannadice on Boxing Day, 1995, when Allan Ferguson had to go off with an injury.

Davie left the club under freedom of contract in 1996 and signed for Ross County, setting another record as the first player to move between the clubs since the Dingwall side had been admitted to the Scottish League. In 1999 he was playing with Arthurlie Juniors while in 2007 he was appearing as an amateur with Eddlewood.

He is a landscape gardener by trade.
