JONES, Ben (1929)

Overview

A signing from Bolton Wanderers, Ben, who was born in Wales was an inside left. It was reported that he did as well as could be expected on his debut for someone who was not familiar with his new colleagues. His stay at Douglas Park was brief and was no doubt hindered by the fact that he did not keep the best of health during that time. Apparently he was with Newton Heath before signing for Bolton Wanderers. Born in Newtown on 29th January 1907.

He also turned out for Swindon Town, Rochdale, Oldham Athletic, Wigan Athletic, Nelson and then Southend United after departing Hamilton.

He weighed 9sts 9lbs and stood 5’10”.

Debut on 2nd March 1929 in a Scottish League match away to Airdrieonians.
