POLLOCK, James (1932)

Overview

James was a wing half who first played in 1932. He was a reserve team performer for most of his stay at Douglas Park. Made one appearance at centre half and played well. Jimmy McStay was introduced the following week and that was the close of James’ role in that position.

He did manage to pick up an honour with Accies when he was one of the eleven who beat Motherwell in the two legged Final of the Second Eleven Cup in 1934. Many fans were surprised when he was allowed to depart Douglas Park with a free transfer at the close of season 1934-35, whereupon he was promptly signed by Motherwell.

Cambuslang born, he weighed 11sts 4lbs and stood at 5’9”.

Debut on 31st August 1932 in a Lanarkshire Cup tie at home to Motherwell.
