MATHIE (1918)

Overview

A youngster signed at the commencement of the 1918-1919 season from Parkhead Juniors, he was played mainly at outside right. The following year he was rather surprisingly released and he went to Renton. Came from the Wishaw district.

While with Burnbank Athletic in 1915, he appeared in a Lanarkshire League Select side against Accies at Douglas Park. Left them in 1916 to play for Bellshill Athletic. He later reappeared for Burnbank Athletic for the 1920-21 term.

Debut on 17th August 1918 against Queen’s Park away in a First Division League match.
