BATHGATE, Syd (1953)

Overview

Born on the 20th December, 1919, in Aberdeen, Syd played with Aberdeen Parkvale up until September 1946, when he signed for Chelsea. With the Stamford Bridge club he made 135 League appearances.

He joined Accies in 1953 and played in the old First Division only. A solid full back who, alas, had his best days behind him when he came to Hamilton. He was temporarily transferred to Keith in March 1954, being freed shortly after.
