MILLER, John (1901)
Overview
Came to Douglas Park from Dalziel Rovers in 1901 and was played at outside right to begin with. By the time the club met Albion Rovers in the Lanarkshire Cup Final in 1902 he was moved to centre forward and he scored the third of Accies goals in a 3-0 win.
His aptitude for goalscoring meant a permanent move to centre forward and there he flourished though not in the goalscoring stakes as a result of which he was transferred to Manchester City on 18th September 1902. Said to have gone to South Africa in 1903.
With Airdrie in 1905. To Motherwell in December 1907. The 1908-09 season opened to find him back at Douglas Park where he operated as required in any one of the three inside forward roles. He made fleeting appearances later in his career too.
