McBRIDE, Hugh (1924)

Overview

Signed from Raith Rovers to take over from the injured Sandy Hunter in 1924, he was a right back. On his debut he was described as “a capable defender, who defended stoutly and made an auspicious start”.

He played in Accies pre-season trial in August 1925 only to be transferred within days to Dundee United. Among his earlier clubs were Dumbarton, Plymouth Argyle and East Fife prior to going to Raith Rovers. In 1927 he again turned out for East Fife in a local cup tie.

Debut on 25th October 1924 in a home game in the Scottish League against Airdrieonians which was lost 1-2.
