KING, George (1909)

Overview

Dykehead and Leicester Fosse before joining Accies in 1909. He was one of those players who were rightly termed utility and like so many of that ilk he never had the opportunity of staking a claim for any one position. He did however collect a Lanarkshire Cup winners medal in 1910 when he appeared at centre forward and scored the only goal in the second drawn match with Wishaw Thistle which meant that both clubs held the title jointly.

In August 1911 he was back at Dykehead.

Debut 23rd August 1909 in Finlay McLean’s Benefit Match at home to Motherwell.
