Accies poor run of form continued at McDiarmid Park with a 3-0 thumping by St Johnstone. In a poor first half, with few moments of genuine excitement, a cracker by Saints Peter MacDonald separated the sides on the half hour mark. The striker latched onto a Ryan McCann knock on and sent an unstoppable volley into the top right corner.

Accies had carved out several openings before hand. In 3 minutes, Mark Corcoran was felled by Kevin Rutkiewicz 30 yards out but Brian Carrigan's effort curled just around the right post.

Ricky Waddell had a deflected shot from 6 yards saved by Allan McGregor. A minute later McCann set up ex Accies striker Michael Moore, but his shot on the turn was well save by Dave McEwan. In 19 minutes, good work by Corcoran down the right flank set up Scott Tunbridge but the Australian's shot was narrowly past the right post.

Brian Carrigan tried his luck with a 25 yard free kick but a deflection off Iain Maxwell took the effort over in the 32nd minute. Accies were screaming for a penalty in 40 minutes after Rutkiewicz appeared to handle a Tunbridge shot but ref John Underhill wasn't interested.

McEwan had to race off his line 4 minutes after the restart to thwart Moore and Ryan McCann should have scored in 51 minutes but Missed Moore's cross from the left. Brian McPhee did well on the right to set up Tunbridge in 63 minutes but his shot was deflected wide

In 57 minutes, Carrigan set up Corcoran but the shot was well held low to McGregor's right. A David Hannah free kick on the right was narrowly headed past by Moore in 59 minutes.

Hopeful appeals for a penalty were waved away in 61 minutes as Corcoran was tripped in the box. A slip by Stevie Thomson in 65 minutes let Hardie down the left but his low cross was missed by Moore. Ryan Blackadder tried his luck with a 30 yard chip but the 67th minute effort flew over

Ricky Waddell had a fierce drive well taken by McGregor in 72 minutes. A minute later Hardie sent an angled drive narrowly wide of the right post after good set up by Paul Sheerin.

MacDonald and Moore linked up well in 74 minutes but the latter's shot on the slide flew over. But Moore got his goal in 80 minutes when he took a Hannah pass in his stride on the right before squeezing a low shot past McEwan.

Two minutes later, sub Chris Hay slammed past McEwan after the 'keeper had blocked a Rutkiewicz shot.
