BARRETT, Thomas (1953)

Overview

When Tommy left Shotts Bon Accord as a junior to join Hibs he was an inside forward. Along with Ian Crawford he came to Hamilton on loan from Easter Road in 1953.

He was converted to a wing half and that proved to be his strongest position and he went on to play many fine games for the club. One of his best was against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup tie in February 1955. He was popular with the fans in an Accies career interrupted by National Service. A strong, forcing player, who used the ball well. Said to have gone to Canada.

Born in Edinburgh.

Debut on 31st October 1953 in a Scottish League match away to Falkirk in a 2-2 draw.
