CARR, Stephen (1989)

Overview

Probably best remembered for his goal in the League Cup tie against Dundee United at Douglas Park in 1989 which helped Accies to a shock win over the Premier League side. Stephen came to the club from Blackburn United. He had also appeared with Armadale Thistle and Livingston United prior to that. A stockily built midfielder who made few appearances before being granted a free transfer in 1990.

He returned to the juniors with Camelon and Fauldhouse United among others. As a schoolboy he was honoured as an Internationalist on 2 occasions while at St Kentigern’s Academy in Bathgate in 1984 at Under 18 level.

Stephen was 5’7” and weighed 11sts 7lbs while at Douglas Park. Born in Glasgow on 13th May 1966.

Debut on 15th August 1989 in a Scottish League Cup tie against Ayr United when he came on as a substitute in a 1-0 win.
