Parents of Wild Teenagers Won’t Take Responsibility

Mr. Brian Holloway                                           Damaged House

On Labor Day weekend of this year nearly 300 teenagers had a large and rowdy party in upstate New York. The party was wild and filled with illegal drugs, alcohol, and destruction. The teens caused nearly $20,000 worth of damage to the home where they had the party. They urinated on the floors, sprayed paint on the walls, broke furniture and items throughout and stole items from the home. The biggest problem, and the most illegal part of the party, is that the home’s owner did not know it was happening. Former NFL athlete, Brian Holloway, was at his other house in Florida when the teenagers broke into his home and held their party.

Brian began finding evidence of the party on the internet with teenagers posting pictures of each other at the party. With the pictures he was able to begin identifying the names of the students. He created a website, www.helpmesave300.com, with the hope of inviting the teenagers back to his home to help clean up the mess they made. He invited the families of the teenagers to come and help with the cleaning and to make restitution for the damages. Only 1 parent showed up on that day. Since the teens and their families didn’t show up, Brian began posting the pictures he has found on the internet of their teenagers and posting their names. He is also giving the evidence to the local sheriff’s office for future prosecution of the teenagers.

It seems absolutely outrageous to me that 300 teenagers would think it was their right to invade someone’s home and destroy it, all for the purpose of having fun. According to some of the postings on social media by the teens, this is not the first home in which they have done this. What is even more unbelievable about this story is that some of the parents are considering suing Mr. Holloway for posting their teenager’s name on his website. They are angry that he is making it known that their teenager was involved in an illegal and criminal act. This is truly unbelievable! Their kids committed a crime and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to a person’s home. The owner reached out to them inviting them to make things right, and they refused. Now they want to sue him for exposing their naughty teenagers to the public? If this is true about some of the parents then it better explains how some of the teens could be so stupid . . .they’re only following the stupidity of their parents.
