Introduction

“I AM A CHRISTIAN, I LOVE MY RELIGION!” When I was a little girl, I was always expecting to go to church every Sunday, because Mother always gave me some special treats. When Sunday came, I could wear new dress, wear new shoes, and have a greatest breakfast with my family. Therefore, Sunday was a wonderful day to me! I feel that I can consider myself as a person who is growing up in church and really enjoys the time in Sunday school. Sunday school was my favorite course, and I always looked forward to the story or the song that teachers would teach us. I like everything that can help me understand more about my Heavenly Father.The reason why I chose the research topic, Christian painting in Medieval Period, is that I am interested in the Bible story and like the sacred image. In the beginning of my research, I used “medieval art” as my first key word, then I used the second key word “Christian art” and third key words “the Bible” to search more information. Finally, I decide to use “Medieval art: Christian paintings” as my topic. There are many styles that Christian paintings have, so I choose three main styles to introduce: Early Christian and Byzantine style, Gothic style, and the Renaissance style.
