Star Chasers

     Many people don’t like star chasers, especially parents. Many parents don’t accept their children as a star chaser. They think being a star chaser would decrease grades and make their children lazier than before. But I don’t think so. In my perspective, super idols could encourage many teenagers.

     I have many bad experiences about my voice. Many people dislike me just because of my voice. But they don’t even know me! Before I met my idol, Acchan, I would easily get down by those bad experiences; I even wanted to have a plastic surgery. But when I found that my idol needs to suffer many emotional criticisms, I suddenly have lots of confidence.

     Sometimes I don’t feel like doing my part-time job and homework, especially I’m not healthy enough. I often suddenly fall asleep even during the test. However, when I think of my idol, I would hang on and become tougher. I know that I couldn’t be like my idol, but I could be a striving girl just like her in my own way.

     This year I got a bronze medal in a Taekwondo competition. It’s a big competition, and there were many athletes from all over Taiwan, even from China and Hong Kong. To be honest, I’m not good at physical exercise. But when I thought of my idol, I felt energized. My idol is not a beauty but she has good dancing skill. I think appearance is not that important. Good professional skills with self-confidence are far more important for a person’s self esteem and well-being.

     To sum up, I’m a typical star chaser, and my idol has brought me many bright things. I think this is the significance of being a star chaser of a super idol. Many star chasers spend a large sum of money on their idols, but I don’t think that is meaningful for a star chaser. A star chaser grows because of following her idol.
