Do You Agree with Euthanasia

There has been a lot of dispute about the legalization of Euthanasia all these years. “Euthanasia” originated from Greek. “Eu” means “good,” and “thanasia” represents “death” in Greek. Therefore, Euthanasia means “good death” literally. The exact meaning is that when patients get an illness which can’t be healed, they can be put to death with the injection of some deadly medicaments or removal of medical treatments. Do you agree with Euthanasia? For me, I will say: Yes, I do.

For those patients who become paralyzed permanently, their spirits are tormented. It really afflicts the patient’s spirit when they see the body filled with needles and cavities, and realize that their life is dying out day by day. Some patients can’t endure the physical pain and the spiritual suffering, and then they will choose euthanasia in order to extricate themselves and have a dignified death.

It is usually an enormous burden for the family to pay the large sum of money on medicine. Some family is reduced to poverty or even ruined for paying for the medical treatment for their family. It is also a great despair for them to see their loved ones suffer from pain.

Many people worry about the abuse of euthanasia. For example, some poor family might give up saving the patient because they can’t burden the fees of medicine. The worst is that the family might collude with the doctors to put the patient to death in order to get an insurance premium. Although people worry about those questions, we can set up stern laws to prevent abuse of euthanasia for selfish purposes.

For those patients who become paralyzed permanently or who are agonized with unbearable pain, they have the right to choose the more comfortable way of death. The family also have the right to choose euthanasia for their suffering, incurable loved one, but they must get consent from a team respectable expert of doctors. I think the legalization of euthanasia can relieve people much suffering and pain. So I agree with euthanasia.
