Traditional vs. Online Classes

During the coronavirus pandemic, many people can’t go to the office for work or go to school. Cluster infection is dangerous and risky, so many schools have started to have the online classes.  Personally, having the traditional class would be the preferable way for me since there is no need for the stable Internet, it’s easier for me to communicate face to face with every teacher, and it is healthier for the eyes.

In my opinion, going to school and having the class is the daily life of a student. But in the past year, I had a pretty bad experience with the online class. I don’t have a good quality Wi-fi, so when I was having the online class, the class was disconnected frequently. This made me unable to listen clearly to what the teacher said, and when I fixed my Internet, the teacher had finished the chapter that I had been listening to. I was so tired of these situations; I don’t want to spend more money to upgrade my Internet since it is really expensive. I would rather go to school.

Next, having the traditional class is easier for me to communicate with the teacher. The teacher can also observe the students’ reactions during the class.  If we come across anything that we don't understand in a traditional class, we can raise our hand and ask about whatever we are not certain about. We can also head to the teacher’s office to ask the teacher questions. Beside asking questions, we can also chat with the teacher face to face. In this way, there is a better teacher-student relationship and communication.

Lastly, having the class online would be a worse choice for our eyes. Imagine that if I have classes from the morning to the evening, and I need to stare at the screen for the class the whole day. After a few days, my eyes will definitely be getting worse than ever. My eyes can’t afford me to watch the screen for these long hours. On the other hand, the traditional classes would be much less affected by this issue.

No matter the Internet connection, effectiveness of communication or the healthy issues of eyes, traditional classes are more advantageous than online classes. Despite the online class being more convenient, from my perspective, going to school is the best way for studying and learning.
