In modern society, coffee becomes more and more popular. Recently, I went to a community university to learn how to make coffee. I have learned how to taste coffee beans, how to drink a good coffee and how to make coffee. Today I want to introduce different types of coffee such as ordinary coffee which we can decorate with some milk, the healthiest coffee, and the coffee that is the most convenient to make. Coffee with different flavors are made with different utensils.

The first one is called Moka which can be decorated with some milk or syrup. The well-decorated coffee can make people have a good mood. Moka, which is the first method that people make coffee, is a utensil which uses high tension to extract coffee. Hundreds of years ago, Mocca was a harbor for delivering coffee in Africa. However, Moka was not made in Africa. It was invented by an Italian in 1933, and in order to commemorate Mocca harbor, it was pronounced the same as Mocca. Making coffee by using Moka, we can maintain coffee oil in coffee, and this cup of coffee is called Espresso. Because the oil is included in the liquid, the coffee must taste bitter, and this flavor is the particular smell of Moka. How does it taste bitter? It depends on the fire that roasts the coffee. After making a cup of coffee, we can put some foam to make patterns. We can tell someone “I love you” by making a heart pattern or write some words on the foam to express our thought. Moka is not only the easiest to make but also the most romantic one.

If we want to drink some coffee which is healthier, we can choose the second type utensil which is called Syphon. By using Syphon, we can make coffee which has lower protein and oil but with the taste of original flavor. The original meaning of Syphon is extracting. As implied by the name, people take advantage of a tube to combine water and coffee powder for leading the original flavor of the coffee to dissolve into water by using Syphon. Syphon was invented by a laboratory worker in Germany and it was glorified by Japanese. To make good coffee, we need to notice every step. First, we should notice the fire. If we make coffee with the fire that is too big or too weak, the coffee will be bitter or acid. Second, the quality of coffee bean is an important factor, because if we cannot grind the powder in a moderate condition, we cannot make delicious coffee. Finally, the most important is the way we mix coffee. Mixing coffee is like waking up people. The more brutal we mix coffee the bitterer it will be, and if we mix it too softly, coffee powder cannot melt in water, so the flavor cannot be brought out. Using Syphon to make coffee, we can taste the original flavor of coffee, but we cannot decorate it with milk because there is not any oil in it.

The last type is Dripping coffee. Convenience is the most important thing for the white-collar workers. If we want to make a cup of coffee by dripping coffee, we need a strainer, and we put coffee powder in the strainer, and then we put some water on the coffee powder. Dripping coffee is made by a Germany woman who wanted to taste different flavors of coffee. In fact, making coffee in this way can produce different flavors, but in order to taste good coffee, we have to notice different key points. First, different roast level of coffee beans can produce different flavors. It is dependent on the color of the beans. We should also pay attention to the temperature of water. The temperature of water affects the flavor of coffee. If the temperature is too high, the flavor will be thin; on the other hand, if the temperature is too low, the flavor will be bitter. Dripping coffee is the most convenient one among these three types.

In sum, making coffee is no easy matter. It is like getting along with people. Of these three types of making coffee--Moka, Syphon or Dripping coffee, Moka is my favorite because of the variety. There are other ways of making coffee which I did not introduce in this composition. They are waiting for you to find out.
