Types of Music I enjoy

There are many ways for people to relax. Listening to music is one of the most important ways for me to relax. Almost everyone is fond of music. I am a music lover, too. There are three categories of music I often listen to. Every style plays an important role in my life.

Light music, also known as Mood Music, refers to the popular music instrumental works, including rock music, and disco rhythm strong music. Light music, a popular form, may be original music or an adaptation of classical music, pop music, or folk music. It creates a warm and romantic atmosphere with recreational nature. When I enjoy light music, I feel joyful and delighted. Some light music is world-famous, such as Indian Dreams, Children Memory and Endless Horizon.

Country music is a kind of popular music which has American national characteristics. It became popular in the 20s of the twentieth century in southern USA. It originates from British folk, and is representative of the American white folk music now. Country music features simple melody and steady rhythm. It is narrative and warm, with a strong local flavor, but not short of popular elements. Many songs of country music are two forms or trilogy. John Denver is a famous country music singer. His Country Road is very famous. In essence, country music expresses the feelings of country people.

Pop music is commercial music, which refers to its making profit as the main purpose of the creation. It is the business of music entertainment and everything is associated with this "industrial" phenomenon. Its main purpose is to make money and the art is secondary. Pop music became popular at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century in America. Pop music is a music system which developed from Tin Pan Alley music, rock music, jazz music, Bruce, and Saul America architecture. The diversity of styles and forms include Jazz, Rock, Soul, general Blues, Reggae, Rap, Hip-Hop, Disco, and New Age, which are all about the urbanization in the twentieth century. Styles and forms of Chinese pop music are mainly affected by those of pop music of Europe and the United States and are gradually formed on the basis of its local style. Nowadays, a majority of music is pop music.

In a word, these three types of music are all popular. Light music makes people relaxed. Country music calms people down. And pop music shows young people’s concern. I love pop music the most because it has dynamic and fast-paced melody. And I believe it is a true expression of young men’s aspirations.

There are many more music styles that I didn’t mention. Music can cheer me up when I feel sad. I truly love music. I find the whole world in it and I have made many friends through it. In a word, music not only entertains me, but also enlightens and heals me.
