Types of Travelers

Everyone has different needs on a vacation, and everyone has a different way they like to vacation. I can’t help wondering why we travel? Let me show you some of the different types of vacationer by including the business travelers, medical travelers, sightseeing tourists and student travelers.

Business travelers go on a trip for working or business purposes. Business travelers need to conduct business travel for many reasons, for instance, visiting customers or suppliers, promoting a new or an existing product, attending events or visiting the project site for evaluation. In addition, they love checking in to 5-Star hotels because the hotels are available 24 hours and they can access the listing easily. Business travelers often need to book a space that inspires them and their team to collaborate better, whether it is for a day or an entire week.

Medical travelers refer to the people who travel to a country other than their own to obtain medical treatment. Travelers are motivated to seek medical treatment because there are certain medical services unavailable or illegal in the home country. Medical tourism most often is for surgeries or similar treatments, though people also travel for dental or fertility issues. Travelers with rare genetic disorders travel to countries where the treatment is more advanced and thus the better outcome is expected. Nowadays, almost all types of health care are available for global medicine, including psychiatry, alternative medicine, convalescent care, and even burial services.

Sightseeing tourists visit specific attractions, typically those places which are inherent of or exhibit natural or cultural value, historical significance, natural or artificial beauty, offering leisure, adventure and amusement. These kinds of travelers prefer to spend their time in museums and read every word on every plaque to discover the most interesting revelation. They often put pyramids in Cairo, Egypt and the Great Wall of China in their must visit list while travelling.

Every year, thousands of students travel around the world because they don’t want to regret about their college years. As a student, we have scholarships that fund study abroad programs, international research, internships, personal projects, language learning, and even leisure travel. Additionally, the skills we get from travel are the most valuable in the professional world, such as independence, networking, and bilingualism. Most importantly, however, investing in travel is like investing in an education. The results are intangible but extremely valuable. Travel teaches tolerance, self-sufficiency, and resourcefulness as well, the three key skills that we can use for the rest of our life.

Last but not least, whatever kind of traveler you are, travelling is a wonderful adventure and to do it in a responsible way by only leaving footprints instead of causing pollution will make the experiences more meaningful and authentic. Best of luck as you encounter the types of travelers mentioned, you might never know what kind of person you will meet while travelling. Being a traveler with unique experiences can enrich your life greatly!
