Continuing Studying or Finding a Job

Victoria Chen

Every year when the hot summer comes, many college graduates will be in a dilemma. Whether to continue their studying or not is really a big issue. And they also can’t imagine what they will face if they try to find a job. As for me, I will choose to find a job instead of continuing my studying after I graduate from the university.

First, finding a job can take me into a new world which further study cannot. During the four years’ studying in university, I’ve mastered the basic and the advanced knowledge in my major. I have got enough professional knowledge so it is the time for me to apply these theories into practice. By entering the society I can examine if I have learned what I am supposed to learn in school. However, continuing studying cannot give me such a chance. If I further my studies, I have to learn much deeper knowledge, which could be difficult to me. The key to doing perfectly in advanced study is enthusiasm. If I do continue my study without passion for it, it will be a waste of money and time.

Second, finding a job can help to ease my family’s burden, while continuing studying cannot. I was born in an ordinary family and my parents try their best to afford me to enter the university. After graduating from university, I ought to find a job to support myself and family, which will help to make my parents less tired and more energetic. By contrast, continuing my studying will increase my family’s financial burden, which will speed my parents’ aging process. If my finding a job can make them stay healthy and happy, why don’t I do this?

Third, finding a job can let me accumulate experience and get chances which college graduates cannot get. Finding a job right after graduation means that I enter the market and society earlier than other students. When others are still in the graduate school, I can improve myself by dealing with various challenges in the market. However, continuing studying can’t bring me such advantages. After graduating from graduate school, these students are still new in the society. They don’t have any skills or experiences which companies attach great importance to. Compared to these students, I will be a stronger person with greater market value.

In conclusion, it is quite necessary for me to find a job after graduating from university. It is a choice not only good for myself but also beneficial to my family. Finding a job can give me a chance to apply the knowledge I have acquired into practice, ease my family’s burden, and more importantly, enable me to accumulate experience and improve myself. I believe it is definitely good for me to find a job after graduating from university.
