School Rules: Eating in the Classroom

Most schools have a rule against eating in the classroom, especially elementary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools. By contrast, most colleges do not have such a rule, and whether students can eat in the classroom or not depends on professors. In college, there are different opinions about eating in the classroom, but most people are against eating in the classroom.
We cannot do many things well at the same time. If students eat in the classroom, they cannot concentrate on what the teacher teaches well. Students always need to note what the teacher is teaching. How can the student take notes well when he or she is eating? We should concentrate on the thing that is the most important to us.
In addition, students' eating would make noise, which affects others’ learning. Eating in the classroom also shows that the students lack respect for teachers. Teachers teach us knowledge, and we should concentrate on what they are teaching.
Students should learn to use their time well. The reason why students eat in the classroom is they do not use their time well. Students can get up earlier so that they would have enough time to eat breakfast, and they can eat some snack during the break time if they cannot find time to eat lunch. If students use their time well, they do not have to eat in the classroom, and they can also concentrate on the teacher.
Many students think that they can eat in the classroom. They think eating in the classroom is not a big deal; they would not affect the teachers and the classmates. Some students even think that eating in the classroom can increase their energy for their learning.
There are still many people against eating in the classroom. Some people think this kind of behavior is very selfish, because it would affect classmates. The students who eat in the classroom should put themselves in the shoes of their teachers and other students. Most important of all, the students should show their respect for teachers.
