Having My Own Business

Iris Chen

Most people would start to work after they graduate from college. They might work for an employer or establish their own business. For me, I prefer to work for my own business. I would rather have my own business because it is challenging, it enables me to contact with different kinds of people, and it can realize my dreams.

To have my own business, I have to deal with many difficulties. When I encounter problems, I have no one to ask for help. Thus, I need to find out the solutions by myself. It is quite challenging, but I enjoy solving the problems which I confront. If I work for an employer, the only thing I have to do is to do what the boss asks me to finish. It is quite boring. I would work just like a machine by doing something routine for long hours.

Second, I have to interact with different kinds of people while working by myself. Because I am an outgoing person, I like to interact with people and make new friends. If I work in a company, I have less chance to meet different people. Every day what I have to do is to work with the same partner and work for the same boss. I will feel like being in a jail. I cannot have enough chance to make new friends.

The last reason is I can achieve my dream by having my own business. I really hope that I can work for myself in the future. Doing things I want is what I am concerned about. Life is short. I have to cherish time. My father and mother have worked for an employer for three decades. They told me that I have to pursue my dream, to do what I like. I saw them work their whole life. They have no dream anymore, and they have lost their passion for life. I feel sad for them.

To sum up, working for myself, I can gain a lot. It helps me to grow up, gaining not only knowledge but also experiences. I would like to face challenges and solve problems. The only thing that I am concerned about is to achieve my dream. It is worthy for me to have my own business.
