How Important the Internet Is to Young People

“Stop surfing the Internet!” is the commonest words for my mother to shout at me. Although I know the reason why she always gets angry when I surf the Net, I still cannot stop surfing the Internet. My parents always say that the Internet will not do anything good for my school work, and it wastes a lot of my time. But I have different opinions from my parents. I consider that surfing the Internet will bring good effects on our way of communication, the way of getting information, and the way of shopping.

First, the Internet changes our way of communication. In the last decade, we would send letters or e-mails to our friends, and we would make phone calls to our classmates for asking questions about homework. However, the world is changing; we no longer send letters or e-mails. We also stop asking questions of the homework to our classmates by making phone calls. We use MSN and Skype to communicate with each other. The most important thing is that they are free and much faster than ordinary letters.

Second, the Internet changes our way of getting Information. Nowadays, we can easily get the latest news on the Internet. For example, we can download the new song of the Backstreet Boys on the Web, or we can watch the news on Youtube. The most dramatic change is that we can get the latest information of our friends by following their Facebook.

The final effect is that the Internet changes our way of shopping. In recent years, we can easily buy things on the Internet without going out to do the real shopping. All that young people have to do is to click to open a new page, and choose the Internet store which they like the most. And after selecting the product, they can pay the bill online to finish the shopping. Without a doubt, this can be one of the biggest changes in today’s world.

In the end, I want to say that the Internet has become the most important thing in young people’s heart. We use the Internet to do our homework, get information, and buy things that we need online. The Internet has become our way of living, and it makes our world become more convenient than before!
